The Menacuddle Well
The Menacuddle Well is located approximately half a mile from the town in woods off the road to Bodmin. The waters are said to cure ulcers and to grant wishes should bent pins be left as an offering. The unusual name may derive from "mena" meaning “a sanctuary” and St. Guidel. The name is said to be derived from Maen-a-coel, which translates as Stone of the Hawk. A granite ‘chair’ is located nearby.

St Austell (Cornish: S. Austel) is a civil parish and major town in Cornwall, England.
It is situated on the south coast, approximately 10 miles south of Bodmin and 30 miles west of the border with Devon.
